Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST)
Requirements:
  • Open to adult students at transitional points in their live
  • Applicants may be single parents, individuals just entering the workforce or displaced workers
  • Chapter awards vary in amount; the Corporate level awards 12 scholarships valued at $2,500 each
  • Awarded the 2nd Tuesday each April

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship for 2012-13
Requirements:
  • Must apply through a Rotary club in the area of their legal/permanent residence
  • Applicants must have completed their sophomore year of college
  • OR must have completed high school and been employed in a recognized vocation for at least two years
  • Children and grandchildren of Rotarians are ineligible
  • Students may contact the Rotary Club in the city of their permanent residence

America's Best Blogging Scholarship
Requirements:
  • Your blog must contain unique and interesting information about you and/or things you are passionate about. No spam blogs.
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Currently attending full-time in post-secondary education in the United States, or a high school senior who is on track to graduate this coming summer of 2012.
  • If you win, you must be willing to allow us to list your name and blog on this page. We want to be able to say we knew you before you became a well-educated, rich, and famous blogging legend.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
Requirements:
  • Summer awards include all academic majors.
  • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at a two or four-year U.S. Institution
  • United States citizen
  • Receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application or during the term of study abroad
  • Participating in a study abroad program that is no less than 4 weeks in one country and no more than an academic year
  • Receiving academic credit
  • Study in any country not currently under a U.S. State Department Travel Warning or Cuba

Oklahoma State Council of Mineralogical Societies Scholarship
Requirements:
  • Must have graduated from a high school in Oklahoma.
  • Must be either a junior or senior, pursuing a B.B. n the Earth Sciences
  • Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Must be used to pay for University tuition, fees, books, or other course required materials or activities, such as summer geology camp.
  • Have a bona fide financial need in order to continue his/her program.
  • Recipient is expected to be willing to give a presentation to one of the Rockhound clubs in Oklahoma at a time mutually agreeable to all. The subject, naturally should be related to his/her field of study and may even consist of informing the club members of the courses involved in his/her field with a brief coverage of their content.

Teacher Shortage Employment Incentive Program (TSEIP)

  • The TSEIP program was created for the purpose of recruiting math and science education majors to teach at least five years in Oklahoma Public Schools.
  • Declare an intention to teach in Oklahoma and graduate from an Oklahoma accredited teacher education program.
  • Maintain satisfactory progress in an academic program leading to an undergraduate or graduate degree in math or science education.
  • Complete an approved program of professional teacher education that includes a student teaching requirement that leads to a certificate to teach math or science at the secondary level. (Alternative or emergency certificates do not qualify.)
  • Be employed to teach either science or math at least 75 percent of the time within 16 months of graduating from an accredited university.
  • Complete the first full year of eligible full-time teaching service within 25 months of graduation date from a four-year college or university.


Deadline: Participants should submit the TSEIP Employment Compliance Form upon completiong of the fifth year of teaching.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Scholarship Program

  • Supporting students interested in pursuing the basic science and technology innovations that can be applied to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security mission.

  • Full tuition and monthly stipends
